Water Supply Scheme Ormara
The scheme envisaged sinking of open wells
on the banks of a seasonal river, River Basol, 40 KM away from ORMARA
TOWN and then pumping water through a 250 mm ductile iron pipe to an
overhead tank near harbour for further distribution to various port
facilities. The main contract was awarded by Navy to STFA Construction
Co. (A Turkish Company who built the Naval base) and Kingcrete Builders
carried out following works:

Three 20 M deep Open Wells on the bank
of Basol River.

Three Pump Houses at Basol Wells.

168,000 gallons Under Ground Tank and
Boosting Station at Basol.

250,000 gallons Overhead Tank at Harbour.

100,000 gallons Overhead Tank at Harbour.
-
Miscellaneous Buildings like Pump Rooms,
Generator Rooms, and Valve/Washout Chambers along the pipeline.
